The 2sd year Module course is launched at NaUOA

On April 23, 2025, the course “Intercultural Communication Issues in Contemporary Europe” began at the Ostroh Academy National University. This course takes place within the framework of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project “EuCultCom: European studies of intercultural communication: EU experience for Ukraine” (project number 101126800 — EuCultCom — ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH), funded by the European Union. The project aims to promote the values and principles of intercultural communication and dialogue between societies in the EU. It is also focused on spreading the European experience in Ukraine in the context of European integration aspirations and the development of a society with a democratic political culture.

Description of the Course: 5 ECTS. Course gives strong understanding for Ukrainian students about multi-disciplinary field of research in studying of EU’s intercultural communication issues. We’ll pay attention to the EU’s culture strategy, the realization of European values in communication and dialogue between societies. Teaching this course addresses issues of politics of multiculturalism, global migration and intercultural communication. Teachers will also try to model the biggest threats to the European space of intercultural dialogue. Also some topics will be dedicated to the conflicts of values in modern Europe. The received knowledge and skills are useful for effective analysis of current situation in EU’s societies and global world, overcoming conflicts in multicultural societies, building the dialogues in modern societies.
